Dormancy Fee Explained

Learn all about our fees for when your Caxton account is dormant.

How long can my account be dormant without being charged?

If there is a balance on the account and there hasn't been any activity for 12 months or more, there will be a £2.00 per month dormancy fee.

Please note: The dormancy fee will continue until either you re-activate the account or the available balance is depleted.

To clarify, any of the following account activity will reset the 12 month period i.e. the time of inactivity that must elapse before you would be subject to dormancy fees:

  1. Loading your account.
  2. Switching a balance.
  3. Using your card for a payment.

Furthermore, if your balance is at zero, you will not be subject to any fees - you can keep the account this way for as long as you like.
